Overview of ZENO Alcohol-Liberated Rosé

ZENO Alcohol-Liberated Rosé is a bright, elegant wine that stands out in any setting. Crafted from organic Bobal grapes, it showcases the unique qualities of this lesser-known grape variety. The wine’s production adheres to stringent organic practices, ensuring that every bottle is not only delicious but also environmentally responsible.

Made from Bobal Grapes

Bobal is a red grape variety native to the Utiel-Requena region in Valencia, Spain. Documented in the 15th century, its name comes from the Latin “bovale,” referring to its bull’s head shape. Bobal dominates the Utiel-Requena vineyards, making up about 80% of the red grape vines. Growers also cultivate it in Valencia, Cuenca, Albacete, and smaller amounts in other Spanish regions. In 2015, Spain had 61,524 hectares of Bobal, making it the second most common red grape variety in the country. Growers also cultivate Bobal in small quantities in southern France and Sardinia, Italy.

Characteristics of Bobal Grapes

  • Vine Growth: Bobal vines are vigorous and productive with a semi-erect posture and long, strong shoots. Typically grown as low bushes, they conserve moisture effectively and adapt to various vine training systems.
  • Berry Description: The medium-sized, round grapes have hard, brightly colored skins. The pulp is colorless and meaty.
  • Taste and Aroma: Bobal wines have a fresh, fragrant aroma and a pleasantly acidic and tannic taste.
  • Wine Production: Known for producing deeply colored wines high in tannins, Bobal is suitable for both aging and blending. Its must contains high levels of resveratrol, resulting in fruity wines with low alcohol content (around 11°) and high acidity (5.5 to 6.5 tartaric acid).

Adaptability of the Grapes

Bobal grapes thrive in the local climate, resisting extreme weather and diseases. They excel at higher altitudes above 800 meters, where they produce higher-quality wines.

Description of ZENO Alcohol-Liberated Rosé

ZENO Alcohol-Liberated Rosé immediately captures attention with its bright rose pink hue. The vibrant color is not just visually appealing but also hints at the wine’s lively character. As you open the bottle, the aromas that emerge are nothing short of captivating. The scent of red summer fruits like strawberries and cherries mingles with the delicate aroma of peach, creating a fragrant bouquet that promises a delightful tasting experience.

The Technique: GoLo Low-Temperature Vacuum Distillation

The secret to preserving the rich flavors of ZENO Alcohol-Liberated Rosé lies in its innovative alcohol extraction method. ZENO uses the GoLo low-temperature vacuum distillation process, one of the industry’s most advanced techniques. This method allows for the gentle removal of alcohol while maintaining the wine’s natural aromas and flavors. By operating at low temperatures, the process prevents the loss of volatile compounds that contribute to the wine’s complexity and depth. The result is a non-alcoholic wine that retains the essence of its original character, offering an authentic wine-drinking experience without the alcohol. This Rosé is an excellent choice for the New Generation of wine enthusiasts.

Message from the Winery Manager

“Starting in our vineyards in central Spain, organically grown vines nestle on undulating hills surrounded by picturesque almond orchards and sheep grazing in fertile fields.

At harvest, we select parcels of the best fruit with specific qualities tailored for getting the perfect result through the de-alcoholisation process.

Carefully vinified in our world-class winery, the wines are then meticulously blended before gently removing the alcohol using the world’s most advanced vacuum distillation technology.

Finally, further extensive blending and tasting follow, led by our resident MW, to achieve wines with regional expression and sophisticated aroma and flavor qualities.
